About Us

What is Rotary?

Rotary is a global network of community volunteers.

  • Emphasis on ethics and vocational service

  • Funds projects that produce lasting change

Rotarians in Kokomo participate in projects locally and abroad. Rotarians serve Kokomo in a variety of projects including serving at the Kokomo Rescue mission, reading books to kids at the local elementary schools, and grocery pickup through Samaritan Caregivers. Rotarians even worked together to help provide a mobile ambulance in Uganda.

Scholarships

  • Dyer and Hod Peabody Scholarship Funds provide scholarships for Howard County high school students

  • Dr. Charles J. Adams and Lovie Adams Rotary Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for students pursuing education in the medical fields

Projects

  • Packing and delivering United Way Buddy Bags for area school children. The bags of food provide some students with nutritious meals they may not otherwise have over the weekend. In 2025, the club used local funds and a Rotary grant to purchase and wrap a new delivery trailer for the program. Courtney Butler, club President, states “This project works towards several of our goals of Rotary such as growing local economies, saving children, and supporting education. This program is so important because some of our children in our community go home hungry, and when they are focused on how hungry they are, they aren’t able to fully focus on their education. This program helps to fill that gap.”

  • Kokomo Rotary Centennial Bridge on the City of Kokomo “Walk of Excellence”

  • Serving Humanity by supporting the Kokomo Rescue Mission and serving Sunday dinners

  • Rotary Tornado Relief project responded to two tornadoes striking the Kokomo area.  Working together with the support of the Rotary District 6560 and the Rotary Club of Fishers, raised money for assisting refurnishing many of the homes damaged by the tornadoes
